Concert/marching/pep Band
The Band at WSHS is the most active student group on campus. We fulfill three musical roles throughout the year as the Concert Band, Pep-Band and the Marching Band. We perform at a variety of events throughout the year including WSHS Football and Basketball games, the Macy's Holiday Parade, the St. Patrick's Day Parade, the EBMEA Concert Band Festival and our Spring Performance Tour. In the 2017-18 school year, the Band and Orchestra returned to Southern California to perform in Los Angeles and Anaheim.
Band Camp will be Postponed - Due to the delayed start to the school year, we will need to postpone our band camp. Our new dates will be Sept. 17-18.
Our annual band camp will be the weekend after school starts, September 9th-11th. The goal of this camp is to give us extra time to work on music, marching fundamentals, and to build our community. The Camp will be held at West Seattle High School from 4:00pm-7:00pm on September 9th, 9:00am-4:00pm on Saturday, September 10th and 9:00-2:00pm on Sunday September 11th. The cost for camp is $35 per student which helps us provide food, coaching, and a pep band hats for new students. Payment can be brought in the first week of school and are payable by cash or check. Financial Aid is available. Students should come prepared with a reusable water bottle and comfortable footwear. More info will be posted as we get closer to camp and have further guidance from the district.
Percussion Camp - Our percussion only camp will be from 9:00am-12:00pm on Thursday, Sept. 1st. This will be our opportunity to work with our drumline instructor and get the percussion section set up for the fall. Percussion students will also participate in Band Camp on Sept. 9-11.
Parents - We could use some help with fitting uniforms during camp! No experience is needed. Please consider signing up for one or multiple of the available time slots:
